SPRINGFIELD - Robert L. Artz, 78, of Springfield died Friday, May 31, 2002, at
Memorial Medical Center.
He was born July 9, 1923, in St. Louis, the son of Ernest F. and Mary Ford Artz.
He married Joanne Lindsay; she preceded him in death.
Mr. Artz was a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II. He was an attorney and worked for the Illinois Commerce
Commission, retiring after 20 years. He was a member of the Illinois Bar
Association.
Survivors: two daughters, Sue (husband, Tim) Farel of Tampa, Fla., and Debbie
Keithly of Washington, D.C.; four sons, Cliff (wife, Linda) Mansfield of
Taylorville, Jay (wife, Luann) Mansfield of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Robert L.
Joiner of Minneapolis and Paul Corrie of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
