Joanne Lindsey Artz 64, of Springfield died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at St. John's Hospice.
She was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Noble, the daughter of Charles and Della Fuson Lindsey. She married Robert Lincoln Artz in 1962.
Mrs. Artz, a resident of Springfield since 1976, worked for the Illinois Governmental Internship Program as a secretary for the program.
She was a 1993 graduate of Sangamon State University, a member of Rebekahs Lodge, a certified Educational Office Employee, and past president of Springfield Association Educational Office Personnel.
Survivors: husband, Robert L. Artz; a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Suzie) Farel of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Clifford B. (wife, Linda) Mansfield of Taylorville, and Jay L. (wife, LuAnn) Mansfield of Shepherdstown, W. Va.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Harlan (Shirley) Goodell of Fort Pierce, Fla.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Harold Kelly Mansfield.
Services: Staab Funeral Home, the Very Rev. Warren Raasch officiating. Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney.
