Donald Aldrich

Donald Aldrich, 76, of Coldwater, Michigan died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at his home.

He was a self-employed stone mason and farmer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being outdoors. He loved hie children and grandchildren, his companion of 18 years, and his dog Susie, a Welsh terrier.

He was born April 22, 1931, in Climax, Michigan to Amos Gale and Nina Elizabeth (Parker) Aldrich, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and John Grove of Stamping Ground, Ky., Kayane and Bruce James of Chitina, Alaska, Jackie and Keith Harris of Coldwater, and Jeanie and Keith Deters of Angola; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his companion, Barbara Hassett of Coldwater; two sisters, Joyce Cummings and Ruth Ann Butts of Arizona; and a brother, Gordon Aldrich, of Cheboygan, Mich.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday August 10, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, with the Rev. Jon Bruney officiating. Burial will be in Knauss Cemetery in Coldwater.

Calling will be Thursday August 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Beams Funeral Home.

Memorials are to wildlife preservation.
