Gilbert - Services for Pamelia "Pam" Yon Thomas, 77, of Gilbert, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Old Lexington Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. John McKeown with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Saturday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Honorary pallbearers will be James B. Bozard and John E. Batten III. Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648 or Epworth Children's Home, 2900 Millwood Ave., Columbia, SC 29205. Mrs. Thomas, widow of Joseph Roger Thomas, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2008. Born in Woodford, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Wolfe Yon and Annie Lou Redmond Yon. She was a member of Old Lexington Baptist Church and a 1952 graduate of Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, where she obtained her RN License. Mrs. Thomas retired from the office of Dr. Ramsey Latimer and Dr. Robert Clark. Following her retirement, she continued working as a nurse at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care, formerly Rikard. She was devoted to her family and grandchildren. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Tanya and Jim Bozard of Gilbert, Karen and Jeb Batten of Chapin; five grandchildren, Bryant Bozard, Sarah Bozard, Cliff Batten, Kate Hatchell and Lilli Batten; sister, Henrietta Y. Kennerly of Mt. Pleasant, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
