William was the son of John and Mary Eugene White Hufford. He was christened John. William married Grace Regina Carleton on 10 January 1910 in Windsor, Canada and they had Glennard (1910-1911). After the divorce, his second marriage was to Victoria Molly LaLond on 14 April1914 in Port Arthur, Canada, and they had Ida May and Bernice Jewel, and her children Cyril, Mary Alice, and Louise Paquette. William had a third grade education and was a boiler maker. He died from heart disease at the age of 61 years 4 months and 20 days.
