MILLBURY-- Mabel G. (LaCrosse) Stockwell, 86, of 5 Grove St., a retired business co-owner and operator, died Friday, Nov. 17, in Providence House Nursing Home.
Her husband, Harry S. Stockwell, died in 1980. She leaves four brothers, Donald LaCrosse of Worcester, Charles M. LaCrosse of North Grafton, Robert and William LaCrosse, both of Millbury; two sisters, Margaret Stockwell and Rita Koziara, both of Millbury; nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Edward F., Charles and William LaCrosse, and six sisters, Eleanor Lynn, Barbara Gary, Evelyn James, Dorothy Minney, Elizabeth Riedle and Bernice Parmeleau, predeceased her. She was born in Millbury, daughter of Edward and Mary (Lynch) LaCrosse.
Mrs. Stockwell and her husband owned and operated Harry's Center Store for 12 years, retiring in 1980. She previously owned a restaurant in Millbury and was a former Millbury selectman. She was a member of St. Brigid's Church.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church, 59 Main St. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Bosler Humane Society, PO Box 12, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
