Burial was in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bennie A., Bennie Ray, Frank and Robert Baros, Ben. E. Tenberg and John M. Macha.
Legion members participating in the military graveside rites were Adolph Pesek, O.S.T. Meyer, John Degenhardt and Frank Steiner, color bearers and color guards; George Watzlavick, chaplain; Ed Jaks and Louis Dusek.
Rosary was recited at the Buffington Chapel Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. led by Father Kohnke.
Mr. Baros, one of 13 children, was born January 29, 1890 at Frelsburg, Austin County, Texas, son of Florian and Rosalie (Zajicek) Baros, natives of Czechoslovakia. In 1892, the family moved to Gonzales County and settled on a farm at Kokernot.
In November, 1919, he was married to Julia Simek and the couple made their home in Gonzales County. In 1964, they retired from the farm and moved to Shiner. He had been in Hillje since October 1973. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Baros, resident at the Hillje Home; two brothers, Adolph Baros of San Antonio, Ed Baros of Placedo; three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Albina) Vrazel, resident at Care Inn, Gonzales, Mrs. John (Christina) Vrazel of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Louis (Emma) Barkmeyer of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Aug. 10, 1929; his father, Aug. 10, 1941; three brothers, John F. Baros, Jan. 8, 1961; Frank Baros, July 1, 1969; Rudolph J. Baros, Mar. 15, 1970; four sisters, Julie Baros, Aug. 20, 1919, at age 19, Mrs. John (Frances) Jurek, June 17, 1971, Paulina Baros, 14 months, Dec. 31, 1887, and Mrs. Adolph (Pauline) Jaks.
