Fred Blake, 98, of Palmyra (Lincoln County), died Wednesday at his home.

He was born April 6, 1911 in Lincoln County to the late Burley and Delia Thornberry Blake.

He was a retired farmer and from Ben Pearson Manufacturing; also a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fern Owen Blake; daughter, Marine Worthen; brother, Walter Blake; and sister, Margie Owen.

Survivors include 3 sons, Vernon Blake and wife Katie of Cornerville, Billy F. Blake and wife Linda of Palmyra, Randy Blake and wife Nadine of Pine Bluff; 1 daughter, Betty Glover and husband Alton of Pine Bluff; 1 sister, Vera Willis of Calmer; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren. Caregivers; Christene Vilches, Connie Asberry, Brenda Hamilton, Cathy Oxner and Montez McGriff.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Bro. John Marlar and Bro. Onas Gray will officiate.

Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery at Glendale.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are L.W Blake and James Carroll Hankins, Sr.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra.
