RUSSELL S. MICKLE

Russell S. Mickle, 70, New Paris, died June 10, 1971, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 30, 1900 in Bedford County, son of William B. and Lilly Ellen (Blackburn) Mickle.

Preceded in death by parents; step-mother, Lessie (Blackburn) Mickle; Mr. and Mrs. Ealy Custer who raised him; three brothers; two half brothers and a son, Stanford, who died in 1942.

Survived by widow, former Mary Thomas; daughter, Doris, wife of John Suter, Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. Brother of Homer, Johnstown; Mrs. Lizzie Barefoot, Alum Bank; Mrs. Rose Suter, New Paris; and Mrs. Malura Gore, Somerset. Half brother of Mrs. Alice Smith and Mrs. Nellie Hinton, both of Johnstown.

Well-known retired carpenter.

Member of Dunns Creek Church of the Brethren where he was building inspector for the church which was dedicated April 5, 1971. Also a member of Bow and Gun Club, New Paris.

Service at Dunns Creek Church of the Brethren, Rev. Charles Palmer officiating.

Interment in Fishertown Cemetery uner direction of J. Ralph Mickle Funeral Home.
