RALPH SMITH DIES AT HOME

Ralph Edward Smith, 81, a retired farmer was found dead at home off South Myrtle Road where he lived alone, on Wednesday morning. Dr. Silas Fox, who made the medical examination, placed death at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

He had lived in the Myrtle Creek area since 1908, moving here from Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be at Ganz Chapel Saturday at 4 p.m. and burial will follow in the Myrtle Creek IOOF cemetery. He was born Sept. 11, 1891 at Hillsboro. He was married to Ruth Ellen Smith on Oct. 26, 1910 in Roseburg. She died Sept. 14, 1970

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Shelton of Myrtle Creek and Mrs. Mildred Hoefer of Winston; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Ashman of Portland; a grand-daughter; and a great grandson.
