Mildred Victoria Hoefer
HOEFER, Mildred Victoria Age 85, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 1998 at a local hospital. She was born January 27, 1913 in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, daughter of Ralph and Ruth Smith. She was raised on a ranch in the Myrtle Creek area. She married Lester Lloyd Hoefer in 1941 in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1982. She carried mail in the Winston, Tenmile and Camas Valley area for 33 years. She retired in 1977. She and Lester also farmed peaches in Winston. Mildred liked dogs and her favorites were a Bulldog named Trinket and a big white Boxer named Jack. She also collected ceramic dogs. Mildred enjoyed going for rides (anywhere and everywhere) until her health prevented her from traveling. Survivors include long-time friends, Stan Keeler and Frances Michl. Also a niece, Ginny Blevins. Mildred will be placed to rest next to her husband at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Myrtle Creek. Arrangements are under the direction of TAYLOR'S FAMILY CHAPEL in Winston.
