Wanda (Kays) Yinger passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 with her children by her side.
She was born January 27, 1923 in Walton, OR to J.W. and Pearl Kays. A longtime resident of Battle Ground, Washington, she graduated from BGHS in 1941 and enjoyed long friendships with her classmates.
Her beloved husband, John, passed away in 1996. They had been happily married for 55 years. Wanda worked in the shipyards while John served active duty for 3 years during WWII. Upon his return, they built a new home and enjoyed family life.
Wanda was a wonderful cook, hostess and seamstress. Both loved hunting and fishing. John usually caught the biggest, but Wanda often caught the most.
Wanda was a devoted and loving mother to her two children, John Yinger (Arlene) and Judy Matthies (Jim). Grandma Wanda loved her seven grandchildren, their spouses, and 14 great grandchildren, and they adored her. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Edna Hill, Chester, Bill, Clifford and Al Kays.
Her family and friends will miss her greatly. Holiday meals will not be the same. She lovingly gave her heart to us all. We are blessed to have had her in our lives..
