Lamyra Steward, 85, of Rushville, died Thursday, May 8, 2008.
Born Jan. 13, 1923 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Kennedy) Beckner, both deceased. She married Gary J. Steward Dec. 13, 1941; he preceded her in death June 14, 1991.
Mrs. Steward was a lifelong Rush County resident. A homemaker, she was a member of Hannegan Christian Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include son, Mark J. Steward of Rushville; daughter, Mary Jane (John) Scamahorn of Greencastle; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a sister and three brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Warren Engel officiating.
Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
