Son of Joseph Madison Dean and Isabella Caroline Clement-Dean.

Marion Thomas Dean, son of Madison Dean and Carrie Clement Dean, was born April 8, 1871, nine miles east of Marion, Ky., in a community where the names Sugar Grove, Iron Hill, Olive Branch and Deanwood are synonymous as the names all apply to one community. He died near his home Nov. 29, 1944. The prime cause of his death was an ailment of the heart of which he had been afflicted for the past year. He was aware of his physical condition and had talked with his relatives and friends about it and to a large extent had arranged his affairs for the final summons.
In order of birth he was the eighth child in a family of ten children. Three brothers, W.A. (Sandy) of Fort Worth, Texas, Joseph N. and Edward F., of this community, survives him.
Marion Dean married Miss Annie Allen of Cave Springs community, November 8, 1896. The following day they moved into a new home where each of them did their part in maintaining a model home for more than 47 years. She passed away last April 8th, and now he has joined her in the Celestial Realm beyond the stars where no trouble or sorrow ever come.
Their children are, Mrs. Reva Pigeon of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Ruble Akridge, of Fredonia and Mrs. Earl Hurst and Ada Marion of this community. Another daughter, Minnie die in 1928.
