Ernesto "Ernie" Vigil Age 63 of Pecos, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday evening, May 24, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon L. and Martha D. Vigil; brothers: Luciano Vigil and wife Lucia, Patricio Vigil and wife Genevieve, and Isidoro Vigil; sisters: Carmen Varela and husband Eduardo, Delfinia Velarde; father-in-law, Vicente Quintana; mother-in-law, Anita Quintana; sister-in-law, Edwina Quintana; and God parents, Aurelio Vigil and Martina Tapia. Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Vickie Vigil; son, Andrew Quintana and wifeYvette; three beautiful daughters: Donna Lopez and husband Martin, Louella Vigil and husband Jay, Amanda Muller and husband Vernon; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild: Brandon, Bradley, Damien, Devin, Jason, Nathan, Brittny, Cameron, Shawn, Cassie, Justin and Aleyah. He is also survived by his sisters: Cleo Roybal, Eva Lucero and husband Rudy, Angie Gonzales and husband Pete; brother-in-laws: Isidro Quintana, Fidel Quintana, and Anthony Quintana; sister-in-laws: Joann Roybal, Mary Jane Sena; and numerous aunts; uncles; nephews and nieces. Ernie was best known as a family man who loved spending time at "The Ranch". He served as mayordomo of the Acequia Association of East Pecos since 1993. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Honorary pallbearers: Martin Lopez, Jay Henderson, Vernon Muller, Nerio Roybal, Brian Sandoval and all his grandchildren A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at St. Anthony's Parish in Pecos. Memorial Service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 also at St. Anthony's Parish followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
