Martin Dugan Died This Week.
Martin Dugan, an aged and high respected farmer of Brown township passed away at his home about five miles north-east of Brownsburg, Tuesday morning from an acute attack of asthma.
Mr. Dugan was born in Gallaway, Ireland, November 11, 1840 and came to this country at the age of 14 years. He worked as a farm hand until he reached his majority when he was united in marriage to Mary Mullen, from his home town in Ireland.
To this union was born seven children, five of whom survive the father; Mrs. Dugan having passed away 39 years ago. They are, John and Kate who made their home with their father; Martin, Mrs. Cassady Hogan and Mrs. Thomas Roach, all resident of this community.
Mr. Dugan had resided in Brown township for over 50 years and was well known as one of our thrifty and progressive farmers.
Funeral services are to be held this (Friday) morning, at St. Malichi's Church at 9 o'clock with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
