Mrs. HATTIE L. ADAMS KING, age 63, wife of Jasper N. King of Dearborn,Michigan, died at 3:55 p.m. Dec. 1,1949. She was born at Warm Springs Oct. 18,1886, a daughter of the late Tom and Iddie Adams. She was married to Mr King on Sept. 13, 1906 and they were the parents of 8 children, 4 of whom survive. The King family moved from Warm Springs to Michigan in the spring of 1945 and had made their home there since. Although Mrs. King had been in ill health for several years her condition had not become serious untill a few weeks ago. Funeral services were conducted at the Lentz Funeral Home in Wayne, Mich. by Rev. Phillips, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Belleville Mich. Interment was in Michigan Memorial Cemetery. Besides her husband, Mrs. King is survived by 2 daughters Mrs. Mabel Ballard of Belleville, Mich. And Mrs. Gladys Hester of Romulus, Mich.; 2 sons Calvin King of Wayne Mich. and Wilford King of the home;8 grandchildren; 3 sisters and 6 brothers. Mrs. King had many friends in Randolph County who will regret to hear of her passing. ( NOTE: Although Mrs King's obit. states that she was born in 1886 it is believed to be a typographical error. Based on her parents marriage date of Dec. 22,1886, as well as info.that was taken from census records, it is believed that the 1886 date is in error. Her birth date should be Oct. 18,1887.)
