Services Held For Pioneer
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Loraine Arthur, 86, pioneer resident of Carnegie, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the local United Methodist church. Rev. Eugene Cooprider, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. Ward Botts, pastor of the local First Christian church.
Mrs. Arthur died Thursday in the Carnegie hospital following a lengthy illness. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery under the direction of Pitcher Funeral Home.
Lillie Loraine Arthur was born July 31, 1885 to J.M. Linnam and Mary Donaldson at Eden, Texas. She was married to James Allen Arthur November 16, 1904, and moved with her family to a farm four miles north of Carnegie in 1921.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Doris Passmore of Chickasha and Mrs. Gladys Bullington of Del City; two sons, James, of Carnegie and Fred, of Lubbock, Texas; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
