She married Harry E. Vance, Sr. on 17 April 1946 in Reno, Nevada.

She was a member of the Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Vance had been a resident of Breckenrdige since 1994, moving from Loving.

Survived by daughter - Karen Hurford of Breckenridge; son - Harry E. "Gene" Vance, Jr. of Pflugerville; two sisters - Isa Fay Sherbourne of Live Oak, CA and Ava Irene Sherbourne of Ft. Gibson, OK; brother - Milton Lee Woodall of Coo's Bay, OR; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Three sisters - Stella Newton, Ruby Gamble and Pauline Snider, preceded her in death.
