Sun., Sept. 12 (4-5): Mrs. Mary H. Speight died at the family residence yesterday. Wife of Gen. J. W. Speight. Age 43. Born in Mississippi. Nee Bolton. The family removed to Galveston. Married Col John Dockery of Mississippi. After he died, she married Gen. Speight at Galveston in 1868. Seven children survive, the youngest being 3. Funeral today from the residence on South 5th. Burial at Oakwood cemetery, Rev. Dr. Burleson officiating.
