Shirley A. Smith, 56, of Belleville, WV died March 11, 2004 at her residence. She was born November 14, 1947 in Wood County a daughter of the late Joe R. and Mary "Maxine" Emerick.

She carried newspapers for Ogdin Newspaper for 12 years in the Mineral Wells Area, worked for Guard Cleaning and was a member of the Church Of God.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years Dale R. Smith; daughter Cheryl A. Armstrong and husband Todd of Lubeck; two sons Rodney D. Smith and wife Lisa of Rockport, Brian A. Smith and wife Sylvia of Belleville; three grandchildren Hali Armstrong of Lubeck, Steven Smith of Rockport, Jaden Smith of Belleville; eight brothers and sisters Linda Mills, Larry Emerick, Donald Emerick, Maureen Emerick, Charles Emerick, Mary Emerick DeQuasie, Laureen Jenkins, and Kevin Emerick.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two infant sisters Sheila and Julie Emerick.

Services will be Monday 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Reverend Frank Miller officiating.
Burial will follow in Wigal Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
