Robert Allen Harris was born to Henry H. and Mary Rudloff Alberts on September 26, 1934 at Oprha, Wyoming. He was known by his nickname "Beeb." His father, Henry Alberts, passed away in 1938 and Robert was adopted by Fayette Harris in 1949. He was reared and educated in Douglas, Wyoming.

He entered the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean conflict. Following his discharge he returned to Douglas and worked for General Dynamics, United State Post Office, Phillips Petroleum and the Converse County Sheriff's office. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and the Wyoming Peace Officers Association.

He married Janet VanDine October 7, 1953 in Casper, Wyoming. They had two sons, Greg and Richard and three daughters, Joyce, Judy and Julie.

He passed away May 27, 1987 and was survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters; his mother, Mary Harris; a brother, Hank Alberts; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Henry H. Alberts in 1938; his adopted father, Fayette Harris in 1975; and one sister, Lila May Tarrant in 1972.
