Obituary from the Democratic Watchman - January 12, 1940
Miss Ruth Askey, a native of Pine Glen, died unexpectedly at Erie, last Friday, where she had been employed for nine years.
A daughter of Robert and Minerva FORCE Askey, she was born at Pine Glen. Surviving her are her father and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. William Steele of Bellefonte; Mrs. William Long, of Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Edmund Rork of Philadelphia, J.B. Askey of Sinnamahoning, R.J. and Sherman Askey, Mrs. James Hodge and Mrs. Lloyd Wertz all of Pine Glen, and Mrs. D.W. Burkey of Howard.
The remains were taken the the home of her father at Pine Glen on Sunday; the funeral having been hald on Monday, burial was made in the Askey Cemetery.
