Hair: Dark. Residence: Commercial House, Cleveland. Occupation: Farmer. Received a $50.00 enlistment bonus (bounty) from Cuyahoga County, Aug. 14, 1862. Dependents: None. Promotions: To Corporal, Jan. 13, 1863. To Sergeant: Mar. 1, 1864. Mustered out with Company C at Raleigh, NC, June 12, 1865. His name is on Panel #13 in the Cuyahoga County, Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Public Square, Cleveland, Ohio.

He does not appear in U.S. Census listings, including the 1890 Veterans Census. He applied for an invalid pension, Aug. 12, 1890, which was approved and issued as Certificate #960709 in California. California voter registration records showed that in 1890 he resided in Willows in Glenn County, California, in 1892 he was in Glenn, also in Glenn County, and in 1906 in the city of Vallejo, Solano County, California, 66 years old, registered as a Republican, engaged in farming. There is a record of a marriage certificate issuance for him and Jennie Nealy, dated Dec. 12, 1903. The 1904 City Directory for Vallejo, California showed his address as 415 York St., working as a "laborer." The California Military Registers, 1897-1906, verified his service in the 103rd Ohio Infantry during the Civil War and the following: was a member of Farragut Post #4, Grand Army of the Republic, Department of California and Nevada. Residence: Vallejo, California. Occupation: Farmer. Age: 67 (in 1907). Marital Status: Single. Ailments: ankle joint dislocation(s) and senility. Age at enlistment: Incorrectly shown as 32 but it should have read 22.

He may have died at the California veterans home at Yountville since he is buried at the Veterans Memorial Grove Cemetery there. Nothing more is known about his wife. She may have preceded him in death since there is no record a widow's pension application ever being filed.
