Services for Inez Crosthwait, 87, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2006 in the W. W. Rix Chapel with the Rever-end John Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors. Mrs. Crosthwait died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006.

Mrs. Crosthwait was born on Sept. 23, 1919 in Hagerman, N.M. to A. Lonzo and VelmaBeatrice (Carithers) Spence. She married Col. Jerry L. Crosthwait on Jan. 30, 1941 in New Mexico. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2001. She graduated from Watson's Business College in Plainview and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Lubbock for the past sixty years. She was a homemaker, cashier and bookkeeper and was employed by Hemphill-Wells for nine years. She was employed at Medical Arts Clinic and retired after fifteen years of service in 1985.

Survivors include a son, Kent Crosthwait of Whiteriver, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Dee Crosthwait of Grapevine; granddaughter, Michelle Crosthwait of Flower Mound; and two grandsons, Michael Griffin of Denver, Colo. and Mark Griffin of the Metroplex.
