Son of Louis and Mary Lou (Harbourne) Schwall. Husband to Linda Kathleen Caspers. Father to Lori and Louis. Grandfather to Andrew and Stephanie Petre. Brother to Gail, David "Joe", Jeff, Randy, Barry, Robin, and Tim Zube. Known simply as "Uncle" to many nieces and nephews.

Brian's father, Louis, fought in and died at The Battle of the Bulge in World War II. Louis died on Christmas Day 1944, and Bri was born the next day. Brian served proudly as a member of the Arizona chapter of Battle of the Bulge veterans, and he and his son visited Luxembourg twice, to view the field where his father was killed.
