When he was three years old his parents moved from Ohio to York, Nebraska. In 1905 the family moved to Litchfield and he became a resident of this community. During the World War he served his country by enlisting in the Navy in the spring of 1917. He was given honorable discharge in April, 1919. Since then he has resided in various places including Ohio, Michigan, and the western part of the United States. The last eighteen months of his life were spent in the Veterans Hospital at Lincoln.
Mr. Halbeisen was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, and also of The Richard Harris Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lincoln, Nebraska.
His father and three sisters have preceeded him in death. Those of the immediate family who mourn his departure are his mother, five brothers and five sisters as follows: His mother Mrs. Elizabeth Halbeisen of Litchfield; the brothers are, Carl, Mervin, John and Albert of Litchfield; and Harold of Lincoln; his sisters are Mrs. J.W. Fox and Mrs. W.B. Daniels of Litchfield, Mrs. L.E. House of Ryderwood, Washington, Miss Verna Halbeisen of Lincoln and Mrs. S.A. Williams of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Thursday afternoon, Rev. A.W. Johnson pastor of the church officiating. Interment was made in the Litchfield Cemetery. The Odd Fellows Lodge having charge of the services at the cemetery.
