Joseph Wagner
Joseph L. Wagner, 92, of Mount Calvary, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1993, at Villa Loretta Nursing Home in Mount Calvary, where he lived for the past 1 1/2 years.
He was born March 24, 1901, in Mount Calvary, a son of Albert and Flora Dreifuerst Wagner. On Oct. 3, 1964, he married Agnes Helz at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary.
Mr. Wagner attended Holy Cross Catholic Grade School in Mount Calvary and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He and his wife lived in Mount Calvary where he was employed as an electrician. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Abler-Engel American Legion Post of Mount Calvary. Survivors include his wife of Mount Calvary; two stepsons, Stanley Helz and his wife Laura of Citra, Fla., and Joe Helz and his wife Mary of Fond du Lac; three stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Olson of Lake Forest, III. and two sisters-in-law, Estelle Wagner of Wolf Lake and Della Wagner of Fond du Lac.
Preceding him in death were two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mount Calvary. The Rev. Jim Leary will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. Thursday to the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary or Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Huss Funeral Homes of St. Cloud is handling arrangements.
