Mrs. Ernstine Engisch of Akron township, Wilkin county, died Sept. 14 at St. Francis hospital in Breckenridge, at the age of 82 years.
Mrs. Engisch was born Feb. 22, 1862 in East Prussia,Germany,
and was married in Germany to Ernest Engisch in 1883. They came to the United States in 1890 with their two children and first settled near Elizabeth in Otter Tail county.
After a few years they moved to Akron township where the family has resided for 52 years. Mrs. Engisch was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and one of the respected pioneers of Wilkin and Otter Tail counties.
Mr. Engisch preceded his wife in death on Dec. 30, 1939, and one son also died in infancy. Left to mourn the death of a kind and loving mother are two sons, Rudolph and Edward Engisch, both of Rothsay; three daughters, Mrs. Herman Wolters and Mrs. Herbert Buus, both of Breckenridge, and Mrs. Fritz Schumann, Fergus Falls; and three brothers August Max of Rothsay; Edward Max of Chicago; and Otto Max, also of Rothsay.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 18, at two o'clock from the German Lutheran church in Meadows township with burial !in the Akron cemetery. Rev. Dryer of Wahpeton officiated at the services which were largely attended by the many friends of the deceased and her family.
