Vanarah Dosia Carpenter-Pare was born in Alabama. Her parents were Daniel "Dosh" Dozier Carpenter and Ophelia Steward. (Both from Butler/Coffee Alabama) According to our family stories, Ophelia froze to death at a train station holding Vanarah in her arms because they did not allow Native Americans inside the depot. They were on there way to Texas to live with family due to Daniel losing his life to a virus.
She married John A. Pare, Jan. 1st, 1896 in Collin County, TX. They had the following children:
Horace Hayle Pare, Ghlee "Johnnie" Pare-Watson, Gaynelle Pare-Wright, Grace Glycene Pare-Wright, Hazel Pare-Nixon, Helen Pare-Coates, Lendon Lloyd Pare, Lois Gladys Pare-Huffman, Juanita Earline Pare-Boyd and Jeanette Pare-Vervalin. Her children and grandchildren all called her "Mamma". Vanarah was loved by all that knew her. She will forever be thought of as a kind and spiritual person who loved life and her family.
