Services for Guy Russell Baker, 97, formerly of Red Oak will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday from Sellergren-Lindell Funeral Home, the Rev Clern Keyes officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa.
Mr. Baker, of Haleyville, Alabama, was born May 11, 1884, in Villisca to James and Rachel Baker, and died Saturday at Haleyville, Alabama after a six month illness.
A resident of Red Oak, Iowa, most of his life, he married Bessie Johnson on May 5, 1910, in Red Oak, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1970. The past four years, he made his home with two sons in Nebraska City, and Haleyville, Alabama. He was a laborer.
Surviving include five sons, Arthur of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Paul of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Robert of Idabel, Oklahoma, Harry of Haleyville, Alabama, and James of Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters Elizabeth Brenning of Red Oak, and Rachel Merk of Wallace, Michigan; 28 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter.
