Clint Bollinger Smith, 51 years old, who has been postmaster at Berryville for the last six years, died at his home here Tuesday morning about 6 o'clock, after an illness of only a few days. He contracted influenza the day before Christmas and it developed into pneumonia. Mr. Smith was a native of Northwest Arkansas, having been born near Huntsville. He moved with his parents to Carroll county when 16 years of age.

He lived in the Pleasant Valley community near Berryville until he took charge of the post office here. Mr. Smith was not married, and he and his sister, Miss Loula who was his assistant in the post office and their brother, Oscar Smith and family lived together here.

At the time of his death, Mr. Smith was senior warden of the local Masonic lodge and was prominent in Masonic circles. He was a member of the Methodist church. Besides his brother and sister here, he is survived by three other brothers, Dr. G. W. R. Smith, College Park, N. M., who was here at the time of his death, Charles K. Smith, Bluejacket, Oklahoma, and Joe L. Smith, Seattle, Wash. Funeral arrangements are delayed pending word from relatives.
