Garner rites held Friday
Funeral services were held Friday morning for A. H. Garner, 76, of the Granby Community who died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon in Methodist Hospital in Hattiesburg. Rev. Charles Reid officiated and was assisted by Rev. Sutton Smith and Rev. L. C. Anthony.
Nephews who served as pallbearers were Frank McNease, Otho McNease, Noel Dewitt, Otto Dewitt, Thomas Hoover, and R. G. Garner.
Mr. Garner was a native and lifelong resident of Jefferson Davis County where he farmed prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church where he was on the official board and as a Trustee.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nannie McNease Garner, one son, Ray Garner; two daughters, Mrs. Douglas Raybon and Mrs. W. A. Bullock all of Prentiss; one brother, Frank Garner, one sister, Mrs. Bill Langston, both of Prentiss, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
