Known Athenian to Be
Held This Afternoon
T. J. Epps, 77, well known Athens man, died at his residence, 1020 Hancock avenue, Saturday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock after an illness of ten days.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at Prince Avenue Baptist church, conducted by Dr. Pope A Duncan, pastor of the church.
Pallbearers will be T. E. Guilledge, Robert Martin, J. L. Pendley, Jr., J. R. Davis, B. L. Adams, and H. D. Logan. Interment will be in Oconee Hill cemetery, with McDorman-Bridges in charge.
Surviving Mr. Epps, are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Langford Epps; four daughters, Mrs. H. E. Thomas, Mrs. Wm. McKinnon, Mrs. L. E. Blakey, and Mrs. Allen G. Smith all of Athens; four sons, Ben T. Epps, sr., Athens; Carol Epps, Rome, GA.; Lieutenant Wm. B. Epps, United States Navy, and Robert L. Epps, Savannah, GA; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Roy Epps, Athens; son-in-law, Powell D. Bush, Dahlonega, GA; a brother, J. M. Epps, Tucker, GA. Twenty-one grand-children; and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Epps was born in Oconee county, but had been a resident of Athens for the past 28 years. Before his retirement he was for many years one of Clarke county's leading farmers. Mr. Epps' family had been prominently connected in the business life of

Athens for many years and his death will strike a note of profound sorrow in this community.
A member of the Baptist faith; Mr. Epps until age compelled him to leave, the more active paths of life, took a keen interest in the affairs of his church as well as the affairs of the city and county.
His death will leave a void which will indeed be hard to fill.

Held This Afternoon
T. J. Epps, 77, well known Athens man, died at his residence, 1020 Hancock avenue, Saturday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock after an illness of ten days.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at Prince Avenue Baptist church, conducted by Dr. Pope A Duncan, pastor of the church.
Pallbearers will be T. E. Guilledge, Robert Martin, J. L. Pendley, Jr., J. R. Davis, B. L. Adams, and H. D. Logan. Interment will be in Oconee Hill cemetery, with McDorman-Bridges in charge.
Surviving Mr. Epps, are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Langford Epps; four daughters, Mrs. H. E. Thomas, Mrs. Wm. McKinnon, Mrs. L. E. Blakey, and Mrs. Allen G. Smith all of Athens; four sons, Ben T. Epps, sr., Athens; Carol Epps, Rome, GA.; Lieutenant Wm. B. Epps, United States Navy, and Robert L. Epps, Savannah, GA; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Roy Epps, Athens; son-in-law, Powell D. Bush, Dahlonega, GA; a brother, J. M. Epps, Tucker, GA. Twenty-one grand-children; and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Epps was born in Oconee county, but had been a resident of Athens for the past 28 years. Before his retirement he was for many years one of Clarke county's leading farmers. Mr. Epps' family had been prominently connected in the business life of

Athens for many years and his death will strike a note of profound sorrow in this community.
A member of the Baptist faith; Mr. Epps until age compelled him to leave, the more active paths of life, took a keen interest in the affairs of his church as well as the affairs of the city and county.
His death will leave a void which will indeed be hard to fill.

Surviving Mr. Epps, are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Langford Epps; four daughters, Mrs. H. E. Thomas, Mrs. Wm. McKinnon, Mrs. L. E. Blakey, and Mrs. Allen G. Smith all of Athens; four sons, Ben T. Epps, sr., Athens; Carol Epps, Rome, GA.; Lieutenant Wm. B. Epps, United States Navy, and Robert L. Epps, Savannah, GA; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Roy Epps, Athens; son-in-law, Powell D. Bush, Dahlonega, GA; a brother, J. M. Epps, Tucker, GA. Twenty-one grand-children; and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Epps was born in Oconee county, but had been a resident of Athens for the past 28 years. Before his retirement he was for many years one of Clarke county's leading farmers. Mr. Epps' family had been prominently connected in the business life of

Athens for many years and his death will strike a note of profound sorrow in this community.
A member of the Baptist faith; Mr. Epps until age compelled him to leave, the more active paths of life, took a keen interest in the affairs of his church as well as the affairs of the city and county.
His death will leave a void which will indeed be hard to fill.
