Mary Alice B. Hagin, 78, retired bookkeeper, died early
Tuesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
The Bulloch County native was retired after 41 years as a
bookkeeper and secretary at Collins Frozen Foods. She was a
member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, the
AARP and Middleground Primitive Baptist Church, where she
was a church clerk for 21 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Shelby Howell Barnwell,
Statesboro, and Peggy H. Dedge, Savannah; a son, James
Dewey Hagin Jr., Madison; two brothers, J.C. Brown and
Charles Brown, both of Sylvania; five sisters, Frances
Turner, Portal, Kathryn Parker, Rocky Ford, Allie Mae
Havins, Fontana, California, Bessie Ree Tucker, Silver
City, N.M., and Raynita Lyons, Doraville; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2 P.M. at Middleground
Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Steve Taylor, Wayne
Gibbs and Michael Newman officiating. Burial will be
in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Gay, Donald Donaldson, Jappy
Akins, Ben Groover, Thomas Mikell and Mark Gay.

Remembrances may be made to the Middleground Primitive
Baptist Church.
