Saturday afternoon, Casper Klosterman, who had been a patient for a week or more at St. Raphael's hospital, quietly passed away. He died shortly after four o'clock. The deceased had been suffering from an attack of typhoid fever and the serious nature of his illness has been referred to in this paper. The remains were taken to his home at Richmond on the Willmar train, Saturday evening, at which place the funeral occurred yesterday.
The deceased leaves a wife, but no children. He is a native of Germany and was in the neighborhood of forty years of age at the time of his death. He has followed the profession of a teacher and has taught in a great many different districts throughout the county. He taught school last in the district which is situated in what is known as the Becker settlement. He was at one time a member of the legislature of this state. Casper Klosterman was elected by the Democrats in the fall of 1876, from what was then the Second district of this county.

His gravestone says he was born in 1852, but 1860 and 1880 Census data and a bio in the New Vienna, Iowa, history book, shows his year of birth to be 1848.
