Died—At his home in the eastern part of town, on Friday morning, Christian Mayer, aged 74 years. The deceased was an old and well known settler of Glencoe, having resided her 19 years and had a large number of relatives in this city. He leaves a wife and ten children to bear him in fond remembrance. The children are Mrs. C. Sayer, Mrs. A Tischleder, Misses Mary, Lizzie, Aggie, Sister Alexia of St. Peter, Sister Rudolph of Toledo, Ohio and Benedict, John and Clemens. The funeral took place on Monday Rev. Alfred Mayer, of St. Paul, a nephew of the deceased preaching the funeral. Among those from elsewhere who attended the obsequies were Rev. Kober of Stewart, John Hipp and wife of St. Paul, H. Heinen and wife of New Prague, C. Schneiderhan and wife, Jordan, Leonard Mayer Shakopee and many others. Glencoe Enterprise 10/8/1896
