Born Sep 18, 1901 near Independence, KS, he came to Wichita from Cedar Vale, KS. A member of the Cedarvale Baptist Church, he lived in Wichita for four years.
Survivors include his widow, Alma; four sons, Denzel Philo, Renton, WA; William T Philo, Jr, Independence, KS; Claude Philo, Corsicana, TX, and Carl Philo, Stratton, NE; two daughters, Eleanor Slifer, Florence, KS, and Mildred Edmonds Wichita, KS; a stepson, Wayne Spayd,Topeka, KS; two brothers, Lloyd Philo, Encampment, WY, and Ray Philo, Rawlins, WY, and a sister, Thelma Coleman, Benton, AR.
Services will be announced by Potts Funeral Home, Independence, KS. DeVorss -Rotz Funeral Home has charge locally.
