Lebanon, Indiana - Henry C. Dickerson, age ninety-one, a resident of Boone county all his life, was burned to death Friday (Oct. 25, 1935) when his clothing caught fire as he was burning leaves in front of his farm home south of Lebanon.
Bits of clothing which had fallen from his body marked his trail as he ran stumbling and screaming to a well house in the rear where he fell a few feet from the water. His charred body was found by neighbors who ran from a field nearly a mile away when they heard his cries for help.
Mr. Dickerson had lived alone since the death of his wife some years ago.
