Bernardita was survived by 6 daughters: Tomasita Baca, Carolina Montoya, Tina Tinkham, Sally Garduño, Clorinda Lopez, and Teri Lewis; 4 sons: Fidel Jr., Ruben, Eppie, and Gerald; grandson raised by her Ty Coriz, all of Chimayo; 2 brothers: Esquipula Martinez of Chama and Ascencion Jose Martinez of Chimayo; sister Julia Salazar of Chimayo; special friend Dora Coriz of Chimayo; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Funeral services were on 25 Aug 2003 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home in Española. Burial was in Nuestra Señola de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Pallbearers: Matthew Coriz, Gerard Coriz, Ruben James Coriz, Ray Baca, Florian Montoya, and Jason Lopez.
