Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. Roland Crandall. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
A retired farmer, Barnes had been a resident of Fairfield for 18 years. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Barnes was born Sept. 20, 1887 near Denmark, the son of Oscar and Luella Tullis Barnes. He was reared and educated in Lee county. He was married June 22, 1916 to Clara Pickard. She preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1956.
The following children survive: Harold Barnes, Oskaloosa; Dale Barnes, Louisville, Ky.; Eugene Barnes, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Lou Anna Klein, Lyle Barnes and Mrs. Nellie Klein, all of Fairfield. Fifteen grandchildren and one brother, Lyle Barnes, Mt. Pleasant, also survive.
One daughter, one grandchild and three brothers are deceased.
