DEATH CALLS RURAL MAIL CARRIER

Death claimed a well known citizen of this community, when Mr. Edward C. Angle,
a rural mail carrier for the past thirty years, ever since rural delivery was
first established in town, departed this life at his home, 220 South Fayette
Street, Saturday evening, January 21, at 8:45 o'clock, after an illness of
almost one year, death being due to heart trouble.

Deceased was a man of congenial disposition, a loving husband and father, much
admired by all with whom he came in contact and had a host of friends throughout
the community. He was always faithful and prompt in the pursuance of his duty.
On account of failing health he was compelled to retire last August.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah and Katherine Angle and was
born at the place where he died, December 5,1856, thus being in the
seventy-second year of his life. The survivors are his wife and nine children;
Paul of Shippensburg, Earl, Linn, Dale, Roy, Lee Elsie and Ethel, all at home,
and Mrs. Wolfert Herman of Manettte, Wash. Also three brothers, David K., Harry
M., and Robert H. of town and one sister, Mrs. J.A. Brubaker of Bardorf, Ill.

The funeral was held from his late home this Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, his
pastor, the Rev. F.I.M. Thomas, officiating. Internment in Spring Hill
Cemetery.
