Zora was raised by her grandmother Mary Ellen Miller Carlton. Mary's husband Findley Carlton was deceased in 1866 before Conzora was born so the father of Zora is unknown. The 1880 census record shows that she was a daughter of Mary Miller Carlton who was a widow in the 1870 and 1880 census. She had a sister Cornelia who was born in 1865 who was the last child of Findley Carlton. In the 1880 census Cornelia was age 14 and Canzora was age 7. At some time later Canzora was called Zora Carlton.
She could be a granddaughter raised by Mary Carlton but if she was it is not known which of Mary's children was the parent.
The obituary shows her husband was J M Reese who died before she did. His burial location has not been found. If anyone can locate this information please link him to Zora.
Her deceased husband Richard Greene's obituary was found which shows that he was married but the document did not
show the name of his wife or his burial location. It only shows he died in lower Creek, Morganton, NC
