Wednesday Rites Set For Mrs. Ellen Cline

Mrs. Ellen Clementine Cline, 83, of 2110 Maple Rd. , died in a Rome hospital at 9:20am Monday following an illness of four weeks.
Mrs. Cline was born in Shelbyville, Tenn., Oct. 9,1881, daughter of the late James and Mattie Timms Troup but had been a resident of Rome and Lindale for 37 years, coming here from Huntsville, Ala. She had been a member of the North Rome Church of God for many years and was a former employee of Pepperell Mfg. Co. She was married to David E. Cline on July 28, 1917. He died on March 20, 1958.
Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Doris Smith, Rome;three sisters Mrs. Beatrice Varnon, Mrs Etta Corum and Mrs. Amanda Kircus, all of Huntsville, Ala; 11 grandchildren;34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. A.H. Batts of Chattanooga, Tenn. and the Rev. Jake Cash officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the residence until time for services. Pallbearers include James Edmondson, William Worsham, Scot Couey, L.B. Morgan, J.V. Wheeler and Claude Swofford.
Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
