Born about 1797 (census). Son of George & Catherine (Gutman) Clemens. Married Margreta (Rebecca) Winter 25 Dec 1821 at Tabor First Reformed Church, Lebanon, Lebanon Co., PA (church record). Brother of George Clemens #52540028.

Additional children include: Wilhelm b ca 1828; John Adam, christened 16 May 1830; Wilhelmina b ca 1830 PA; Michael b 14 Sept 1840/bapt 27 Apr 1848 Lebanon Co., PA; Lucinda b ca 1849 PA. (per 1850 census)
