Decatur Daily - November 4, 1998

Funeral for Pearl Wardlow Oliver, 97, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ninth Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Barnes, Rev. Kenneth Dunivant and Rev. Gary Ward officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The Family will receive friends Thursday night from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Oliver died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1900, in Hardin County, Tenn. She was a homemaker and a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was the widow of B. L. "Burl" Oliver and the mother of the late Margaret Oliver Nichols.

She is survived by one son, the Rev. Burl Oliver, Jr. of Decatur; one daughter, Catherine Hill of Helena; two sisters, Johnnie Hartselle of Limestone County and Claudia Fisch of Birmingham; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Marlin Coffey, Chris Dunn, Chris Dupree, Brett Hill, Brad Allen, Thomas King, Jason Hill and Aaron Johnson.

Memorials may be made to Ninth Street United Methodist Church or Methodist Children's Home.
