Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with Dr. W. L. Holcomb and Rev. R. H. Staples officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Acting as pallbearers were Harper Terrill, Dr. S. R. Jenkins, Dudley Shell, Don Walsh, Cas B. Moss, and Murray Duncan.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Net Wallace Smith, Winnfield; one son, Gordon Smith, Port Isabell, Texas; two brothers, Charlie S. [sic L.] Smith, Winnfield, and Bruce Smith, St. Francisville; one sister, Mrs. C. W. Towery, Crockett, Texas; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
