Mrs. Addie Clevenger Swann, age 90, of Colorado City died Wednesday February 23, 2000 in a local care center.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 25 in Kiker-Seale Chapel with Dr. Ted Spear officiating. Burial followed in the Loraine Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Swann was born July 7, 1909 to Albert and Laura Clevenger in Foreman, Arkansas, and had been a resident of Mitchell County since 1932. She married Cary "Shim" Swann on November 27, 1940 in Colorado City. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Colorado City. She was also preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Swann, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Dottie and husband O. F. Carper of Big Spring; a sister, Bea Smith of Colorado City; grandchildren, Wade and Tammy Carper of Sweetwater and Jody Carper of Big Spring; great-grandchild Kanyon Wade Carper of Sweetwater; numerous nieces and nephews.
