SOUTH SIDE WOMAN CALLED BY DEATH

Mrs. Amanda Baumann, 72, part owner with her husband, Charles G. Baumann, of the Star theater on Oregon street, died Sunday night at her home at 1123 Oregon street after being in poor health several years.

She was born at Stevens Point, Wis., Sept. 20, 1859, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Ecke, who later became pioneer residents of Oshkosh. On March 10, 1880, she married Mr. Baumann. For the last 18 years they owned the Star theater. Mrs. Baumann was active in civic and welfare work.

Survivors are her husband; Mrs. Fred Beglinger, wife of the circuit court judge, her sister; two nieces, Miss Norma Ecke of Oshkosh and Mrs. C. M. Gelzer of Winnipeg, Can., and three nephews, Dr. Harold F. Beglinger of Oshkosh, Richard Beglinger of Pittsburgh, Pa., and F. R. Ecke of Sheboygan.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon from the home at 1:30 o'clock and from Grace Lutheran church, Nebraska street, at 2 o'clock. Rev. E. Benjamin Schlueter will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside cemetery.
