Erastus was married to Emaline or Emmaline "Emily" Goforth. Little is known about Emily but available information indicates that she was born about 1864 and married Erastus in the late 1880s or early 1890s. A single source provided a date of death about 1910. Her burial location is unknown but possibly could be near her husband in the Bruner Cemetery since she preceeded him in death.
His occupation was identified as a farmer who resided on Sugar Creek Pike south of Nicholasville. Erastus was identified as having been interned at the "Bruner Burying Ground" in Jessamine County from his death certificate although no marker was found to have been erected in his memory.
Rastus and Emily had two known sons who were:
Armster B Bruner (Feb 18, 1891 - Feb 17, 1975) who is buried at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
Robert Gail Bruner (Jun 28, 1903 - Oct 16, 1972) who is buried at the Bruner Cemetery in an unmarked grave. Robert served on the Nicholasville Police Department for 26 years with 11 of those years as Police Chief.
